Technician - Carpenter (Level III)

About the role

This role involves performing specialized carpentry repairs and maintenance at city facilities, handling work orders, and maintaining records of work completed.

Responsibilities

• Performing repairs and maintenance on various facilities and equipment, focusing on carpentry tasks.
• Building, repairing, and installing counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, roofing, and trim.
• Installing glass, replacing damaged ceiling and floor tiles, wall coverings, and door hardware.
• Operating specialized tools and equipment related to carpentry.
• Leading maintenance crews, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Prioritizing, distributing, and managing work orders; estimating materials from blueprints and purchasing supplies.
• Maintaining detailed records of all work performed.
• Working extended hours during shutdowns or emergencies as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
• Ability to manage work orders via digital devices.

Schedule

• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to work extended or emergency hours during storms or crises.
