About the role

We are seeking a Generator Technician to join our dynamic team at Nixon Power Services. Our company, with over 100 years of success, is the world’s largest distributor of Kohler Power generators. We are looking for someone who can provide premium services to our valued customers while ensuring our generators are always in top-notch condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines.
• Repair and adjust transfer switches and perform major repairs on units.
• Install and test new generator units.
• Respond quickly to jobsites in case of emergency.
• Complete and submit work orders and reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare accurate quotes for repairs.
• Follow safety requirements, including proper use of PPE.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical School Certificate or Military training, a plus.
• 1-5 years or more of generator experience required.
• Experience with Kohler Power Systems a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Exceptional customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of electrical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
