Union bargaining unit: SSA. Regular, part-time position (20 hours per week).

About the role

This position supports a BBRF Young Investigator award and an NIMH K23 award using electronic health record (EHR) data from the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) to identify phenotypes among individuals with schizophrenia and bipolar spectrum disorders, and personalized treatments for individuals with those phenotypic characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Harmonize EHR data into a format that can be used with SAS, R, Python, or other statistical programs (45%).
• Construct derived data variables to be analyzed for these specific awards (40%).
• Calculate descriptive statistics of variables to be analyzed for these specific awards (10%).
• Create data visualizations of descriptive statistics (5%).
• Perform advanced statistical analyses associated with the projects’ aims with PI supervision (optional).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science, or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
• Must successfully complete all online systems training requirements.
• Experience using statistical programs.
• Experience harmonizing datasets and constructing derived variables.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience using statistical programs for research activities.
• Graduate-level degree in biostatistics or bioinformatics.
• Experience assisting with analyzing large electronic health record data, claims data, or other clinical administrative data.
• Experience constructing derived longitudinal variables with large clinical administrative datasets.
• Psychiatric epidemiology or related mental health research experience.

Pay

Salary range: $56,489.86 – $56,489.86. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
