About the role
The role involves supporting manufacturing operations, assisting with equipment implementation/startup, PLC/HMI programming, and troubleshooting/managing manufacturing processes control systems. This is a controls position directly supporting a manufacturing site, with a rotating 36/48 hour work week schedule.
Responsibilities
- Supports manufacturing facilities, including remote support of worldwide manufacturing facilities.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, problem-solves, and maintains all electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Aids in coordination of new equipment installation and implementation, including MES integration events.
- Maintains and updates manufacturing process tool electrical drawings, ensuring equipment changes are documented and drawings are current.
- Implements new software changes/upgrades specified by the Controls Engineering Department.
- Identifies, researches, documents, and presents solutions to control problems and continuous improvement projects.
- Interfaces with multiple departments within the organization, fostering team building and adhering to safety procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing equipment electrical/electronic/controls experience.
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Robotics, Industrial Controls, or Electronic Engineering (preferred).
- No Degree - 5+ years of verifiable experience in a related field (Semiconductors, Automotive, etc.).
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and prioritize.
- Good understanding of electrical/mechanical drawings and modification suggestions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical/electronic control systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Competence in Autodesk AutoCAD drafting software for creating electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Programming/troubleshooting experience with Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLCs and FactoryTalk View ME.
- Understanding of ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, and Ethernet networks.
- Basic knowledge of robotic systems, including trouble-shooting, programming, and safety.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and applications, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Basic understanding of corporate Ethernet architectures and systems.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Brief understanding of SQL databases and data collection processes.
- Basic understanding of OPC protocols.
