About the role

Join a team that services millions of customers daily with a fleet of top-tier trucks, including Mack, Freightliner, Peterbilt, McNeilus, and Heil. Work on diesel and alternative fuel vehicles (CNG, LPG, Hybrid) in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body components for heavy-duty and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems.
  • Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and conduct repairs/maintenance to ensure safe and productive operations.
  • Review and complete repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) or repair orders.
  • Communicate with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and preventive techniques to minimize future repairs.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures; maintain a clean, safe work area compliant with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Use vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  • Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of suspension inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Knowledge of brake system inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical system inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic system inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting Service Manuals to make repairs.
  • Ability to complete work within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs) and estimate time/materials required for repairs.
  • CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months).
