Technician

About the role

Bowhead seeks to hire a Technician for the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources Material Shortages (DMSMS) contract. The position will provide logistics and engineering support for Air Force weapons systems, focusing on reducing DMSMS impacts and enhancing readiness.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and solve obsolescence issues across multiple platforms to prevent sustainment impacts.
• Access, utilize, interpret, and prepare recommended changes to technical data (AFTO Form 22s/252s or commercial equivalents).
• Utilize a DMSMS predictive tool to proactively and reactively solve parts obsolescence.
• Access, interpret, and recommend changes to engineering drawings using data repositories like JEDMICS or commercial equivalents.
• Research and provide detailed technical data to support the recommendation of component replacements for discontinued production, including existing stock, reclamation, alternate, aftermarket, F3I substitutions, emulation, and minor/major redesigns.

Requirements

• Two (2+) years combined experience supporting a sustainment environment such as military depots or equivalent.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Effective communication skills with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
