Technician

Roux is seeking a responsible, self-sufficient, energetic Environmental Technician to perform field tasks associated with our project sites, including the operation and maintenance of remediation systems and sampling of environmental media. Field sites are located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidates should be prepared to work on projects related to the investigation and environmental remediation of industrial and commercial sites. Position Requirements A positive, team-oriented attitudeStrong mechanical skillsUnderstanding of environmental and health & safety regulations and performing work in a compliant manner with the regulations and facility safety requirementsWillingness to support the project team to service clients and complete projects on time and on budgetAbility to perform physical labor, including the ability to physically move around outdoors in various terrains, occasionally lift and carry objects and equipment, and climb ladders to access areasUse of a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license to travel between worksites (note: a Company vehicle may be available for use)Field work year-round, most of which is outdoors Preferred Requirements Experience with remediation systems and site construction is preferredFamiliarity with environmental equipment and sampling techniques is preferredWastewater Treatment Licensure is preferredValid OSHA 40 HAZWOPER Certification and 8-Hour Refresher course certification Note: Roux will provide training for new employees who do not already possess these HAZWOPER certifications. Essential Duties Assistance with site remediation system operations and maintenance activitiesInspecting system equipment to evaluate remedial system performance and identify potential malfunctionsPerforming maintenance on system components to ensure or restore proper operation and complianceCollecting samples from monitoring wells and recovery wellsCollecting stormwater samplesCollecting soil and soil gas samplesCollecting, recording, and evaluating system performance dataOversight and supervision of subcontractors involved in environmental remediation and system maintenance and repairs Roux is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Hourly Pay Range: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour. This pay range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity.
