Technician

About the role

Pavion is seeking a motivated Technician to join its security business unit. The role involves installing, configuring, and supporting physical security systems such as CCTV cameras, access control, and alarm systems, as well as handling low‑voltage cabling and conduit work in data center and construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation and configuration of physical security systems, including cameras (CCTV), access control systems, alarm systems, and related technologies.
• Pull and route low‑voltage cables (network, power, video) to support security system installations, ensuring neat organization, proper labeling, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Work with the installation team to integrate security equipment with other systems within the data center.
• Support physical installation of cameras, access control panels, alarm systems, and other devices, including mounting, power and data connections, and initial power‑ups.
• Install and secure electrical conduit and cable trays according to blueprints and design specifications.
• Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues related to security system installations, cabling, or connectivity.
• Collaborate with electricians, network specialists, and other trades to coordinate installation activities.
• Follow all safety regulations and procedures on the job site, especially when handling tools and electrical components.
• Maintain accurate installation records, including routing and labeling of cables, installed devices, and system configurations.
• Ensure installations meet company and industry standards for quality and security, following detailed blueprints and project specifications.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of experience installing security systems or working with low‑voltage cabling.
• Prior experience with cable pulling, conduit installation, and other electrical work.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of low‑voltage systems, including pulling, routing, and terminating cables for security systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety, tool usage, and security system components.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical training or certifications in low‑voltage electrical work or security systems installation (e.g., NICET, CompTIA Security+, etc.).
• Experience in new construction or data center environments.
• Familiarity with installation of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and security system designs.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 lb).
• Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated positions, and construction environments.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $25.00 – $33.00 per hour. Starting pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
