Technician

About the role

Twelve-month position (260 days) at 8 hours daily in the Facilities Department.

Pay

$49,566.40 – $57,678.40 per year. For 2026-27 an additional $8,954 is prorated from July 1, 2026.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License or obtain within six months of hire.
• Minimum five years of experience in building maintenance or construction.
• Willing to become certified in LP gas and freon handling.
• Electrical and HVAC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, and repair water and sewer lines.
• Maintain, install, and repair plumbing systems (water coolers, sprinklers, pumps, back-flow valves) and gas lines.
• Inventory and requisition equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Clean and maintain heating and hot-water systems; keep boilers safe and efficient.
• Maintain building roofs, repairing leaks and replacing faulty roofing as needed.
• Read blueprints and construct buildings and projects to specifications.
• Keep all structures safe and attractive; scrap, clean, prime, and paint surfaces as needed.
• Inspect electrical wiring, safety systems, intercoms, and HVAC controls; repair or replace faulty circuits and controls.
• Maintain records of safety inspections and provide budget information to the Maintenance Manager.
• Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the position’s goals.

Physical Requirements

Heavy work: occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force, frequently up to 50 pounds, and as needed up to 20 pounds.
