We’re looking for a Geotechnical Technician in the Kennesaw area who’s hands-on, quality-driven, and thrives in the field. What You’ll Be Doing Site reconnaissance and call in utility tickets with GA 811 and follow the company utility damage prevention policies.Assist on Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), perform hand auger borings, rock coring, pavement coring, obtain groundwater measurements, log field testing results, retrieve soil, rock and pavement samples and bring them to our laboratory.Perform geotechnical laboratory tests on soil, rock and water samples.Maintain detailed, accurate field reports, test data, and photo documentation.Communicate daily with project managers and engineers regarding test results, progress, and any unforeseen conditions related to the field work.Follow all company and site-specific safety policies and maintain equipment in good working order.Use appropriate protective tools and PPE to ensure safety requirements are met.Prepare report appendices on a computer using Microsoft Office, Google Earth and other relevant software, etc.Read and understand construction plans, cross-sections, and utility plans.Interact positively and professionally with other employees, contractors, clients, industry professionals, and residents/business owners. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma.No work experience required.A valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) -must be insurable by our auto policy (MVR check will be performed).Strong verbal and written communication abilities.Ability to travel and remain out of town to complete the field work.Ability to carry around 50-75 pounds over small distances.
