About the role
The Technician at Unity Eye Center, Grand Island, NE, plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive proper care and treatment. This position involves various administrative and clinical functions, including obtaining patient histories, performing preliminary and ancillary testing, scheduling patients, preparing the exam room, and assisting doctors with exam needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of preliminary testing procedures.
- Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
- Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists with patient procedures.
- Cooky schedule patients and monitor patient flow throughout the office, communicating delays effectively.
- Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
- Provide a safe, clean, organized, and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
- Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctors.
Qualifications
- Likely requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis.
