About the role
This position is responsible to process all payroll related items, including, wages, calculations, deductions, etc. for each bi-weekly payroll. In addition, this position works with and supports the accounts receivable process; and will assist with the accounts payable function as needed.
Responsibilities
- Process all payroll-related items utilizing the College ERP.
- Verify payroll calculation register along with trial payroll reports.
- Verify the accuracy of wages and deductions for each biweekly payroll.
- Process the withholding payments.
- Reports and verifies information to external agencies, ie. Domestic relations, loan verification for employees, HUD, PA Department of Welfare, etc.
- Aid with accounts receivable in posting payments, refunds, and stipends to customer accounts.
- Aid with the customer account collection process.
- Aid with the maintenance of customer accounts, payments, holds, communications, etc.
- Aid with answering customer account questions.
- Process accounts payable payments utilizing the College ERP.
- Verify budget account funds are available and proper signatures are included before processing payments.
- Aprove invoices for the price differential.
- Verify the accuracy of all invoices, purchase orders, credits, and company statements.
- Communicate with vendors on all aspects of accounts payable.
- Maintain vendor information in the College ERP system.
- Support outside auditors with all accounting department needs.
- General accounting technician duties as assigned.
Other job functions
- Aid with office coverage.
- Provide documentation as requested by external auditors promptly.
- Maintain and develop work-related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional and cross-training opportunities.
- Attend all required meetings and training.
- Perform additional grade-level support duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of professional office skills and procedures required.
- Proficient verbal and written communications.
- Meticulous recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to consistently provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments, including managing multiple projects/tasks concurrently and meet varied deadlines.
- Ability to identify problems, make corrective recommendations and assist with the problem-solving process.
Qualifications
- EDUCATION: Associate degree in a related field required.
- EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of accounting work experience required.
Clearances
- The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:
- PA Child History clearance
- PA Criminal Record Check clearance
- FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance
Salary
$18.10/hour

Monday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Tuesday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Wednesday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Thursday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Friday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
