About the role

Sunbelt Rentals strives to be the customer's first choice in the equipment rental industry, offering a vast fleet and knowledgeable staff. The Mechanic role performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment to avoid downtime, working with a variety of makes and models including aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty lines equipment such as large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC, and oil & gas systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
• Conduct diagnostics and make repairs
• Work on aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, oil & gas)
• Bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more
• Work indoors/outdoors as required
• Be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Some trade school or equivalent training desired
• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred

Skills

• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs

Pay

Base Pay Range: $21.38 - $29.39 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on position, location, education, training, and/or experience.
