About the role
New openings for a local RT Technician in South Portland, ME. This is a full-time position with great benefits and local work. Candidates must have a Level 2 RT certification with film interpretation. Eligible for a $750 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Operate tools and equipment to accomplish job assignments and client requirements.
- Inspect and interpret readings in real time to determine areas of interest.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications.
- Set up and calibrate all equipment used; interpret, evaluate, and document results through formal reports.
- Complete timely reports per client, company, and applicable standards.
- Safely operate company vehicles and strictly adhere to company safety regulations.
- Direct, mentor, and train personnel in the method(s) in which certified and capable of.
- Provide direction and guidance with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the company and client.
- Ensure all paperwork is turned in a timely manner, including safety forms, company-required forms, customer forms, and timesheets.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally.
- Follow and enforce company-required safe work practices and procedures at all times.
- Enforce and abide by the requirements of safe operation and personal safety using required Personal Protective Equipment and safe practices per company policy.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Technical background in NDT methods and techniques required.
- Minimum of 1+ years of NDT experience with full documentation of prior training, experience, and certification.
- NDT Level II certification in RT (required); PT & MT Level 2 certification (preferred).
- Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under the company insurance program.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Skills
- Ability to be certified in accordance with Aegeus written practice in RT (Level 2).
- Ability to set up and standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret, and evaluate findings in compliance with required specifications, standards, or customer specifications.
- Thorough familiarity with the scope and limitations of the techniques and methods employed.
- Capable of developing written work instructions from approved general procedures.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including meaning, spelling, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledge of arithmetic and algebra.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Analytical capabilities for customer needs assessment and solutions identification.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Knowledge of industry codes and NDT equipment; ability to effectively perform assigned NDT inspections.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and respond to short-notice work assignments.

Pay
The pay range for this position is USD $25–30/hour. The range is a general guideline for states that enforce pay transparency and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications, internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreements, or other law.
