Technician 1 (Lumicoat & DST)- 2nd shift
About the role
The position involves setting up, operating, troubleshooting, repairing, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining Lumicoat and DST Chambers, or related equipment. It also includes communication with all levels of people and supporting Lean manufacturing and team-based production through continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Set-up, program, start up and shut down machines and equipment.
- Maintain machines, trouble shoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, repair and correct pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, electronic and vacuum system components.
- Decide what recipes to use depending on finish and parts to be produced.
- Decide what racks to use and stage them.
- Detect and report defective materials or equipment issues.
- Work in confined spaces and above ground elevations at times and climb stairs frequently.
- Report-out technical information.
- Load and unload parts, rack and unrack parts.
- Perform parts inspection and make quality decisions.
- Balance workload between 2 manufacturing areas autonomously.
- Support scheduled and unscheduled overtime as a requirement of the role.
- Handle parts carefully to avoid damaging the parts.
- Practice continuous improvement / willingness to accept changes.
- Perform housekeeping duties consistent with 5S and visual workplace standards.
- Accept / Reject parts to DS-500 specifications.
- Perform ERGO stretches.
- Work safely while performing job duties.
- Complete hazard observations or observe unsafe actions and report both using Delta’s standard procedures.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Lumicoat and DST Operator is preferred.
- Forklift, Marklift and Crane Training are required.
- An HS degree or HS equivalency diploma is recommended.
- Achieve a Color Acuity score of 40 or better.
- Prior maintenance and technical experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- Problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Analyze machine data and interpret reports.
- Perform math calculations.
- Adjust work hours to meet the daily production schedule.
- Certified in confined spaces, fall protection and other required safety training or willing to achieve certification in all training.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
- Acceptable disciplinary performance.
- Acceptable attendance performance.
- A human performance evaluation or HPE is an evaluation of a person’s physical ability to do a job. An HPE may be required of the applicant or person to determine if they are physically able to perform different tasks related to skills that are critical for success on the job, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
- Apply reason and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Understand basic reports and daily business requirements.
Qualifications
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents like safety rules, Delta specifications, Standard Work Instructions, job instruction documents, and aspects of Delta’s MOS (Masco Operating System), SFM (Shop Floor Management) system, QMS (Quality Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply reason and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. The person must be able to understand basic reports and daily business requirements.
Pay
$27.60 - $29.25 depending on hire date plus shift differential
