Technician 1 - Air Compressor - Lemont, IL

About the role

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Technician 1 Air Compressor based in Lemont, IL. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil‑free air without end. We keep our customers’ worlds on — from world‑class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades. You’ll be based out of our Lemont, IL service center and will have the opportunity to work overtime and weekends, with potential for travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical distribution equipment and/or oil‑free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and occasionally on customer locations and handle the repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience calculating nominal and effective kW requirements and reading/knowing schematics.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card (based on customer requirements).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move or lift objects typically less than 75 lbs.
• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations as needed, and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
• Willingness to work offshore on an on‑call schedule basis to respond to customers.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods; walk over uneven terrain with functional balance (no special assistive devices required).
• Ability to move extremities and spine through a functional range of motion permitting work from ground/floor level to full overhead level.
• Good finger dexterity, functional hand‑eye coordination, and sufficient grip strength to safely hold tools and stair railings or ladders.
• Must meet physical demands: lift 60 lbs, push/pull 80 lbs, carry 60 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and combine climbing while carrying 15 lbs; also able to stoop, kneel, and squat.
