Technical Writer, Warfighter Systems
About the role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company dedicated to transforming military capabilities with advanced technology. The Technical Writer will create and maintain user documentation across diverse business lines, focusing on making the process of learning how to operate Anduril systems as easy and seamless as possible.
Responsibilities
- Generate, review, and edit user-focused documentation that includes technical manuals, operational manuals, maintenance manuals, procedures, checklists, templates, user guides, troubleshooting guides, and release notes.
- Evaluate and prioritize tasks required to support product documentation efforts and keep them on track.
- Communicate and help manage expectations, ensuring risks are noted with adequate time and shared with leadership.
- Build a culture of technical documentation by contributing to the living documentation process and ensuring those that come after you learn from your acquired Anduril experience.
Requirements
- 4+ years of demonstrated excellence in generating technical documentation.
- Experience writing technical user-facing documentation.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering documentation.
- Experience building content in a variety of formats (Word, XML, etc).
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
- Ability to relocate, if not already local to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA.
Prior to joining Anduril
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-40051D, S1000D, and S1000D standards and delivery methods is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications
- Military exposure and experience, particularly with military technical documentation writing and formatting standards, guidelines, and verbiage (MIL-STD-40051, S1000D, etc).
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on technical subjects.
- Passion for excellent documentation and user experience.
- Previous experience creating technical documentation in Aerospace and Defense (for DoD).
- Experience delivering content on fast-paced, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Pay
US Salary Range: $86,000 - $149,000 USD
