Technical Writer II (Remote) with Security Clearance
Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive research and interview Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop C5ISC Process Guides, Technical Publications and Manuals, and Change/Configuration Management documents in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard standards, policies, and procedures.
Review and update all Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSPs) and their companion Equipment Support Sheets (ESS) to align with current policy and procedures.
Work within SharePoint to generate required pages for processes and metrics collection and dissemination.
Identify and apply correct Scientific and Technical Information (STINFO) markings to all required documents or information.
Create or revise hardware and software product documentation, which includes installation, operation and maintenance instructions and other technical publications such as technical advisories and release notes.
Handle moderately complex issues and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain one if needed).
- Associate degree in technical writing from an accredited institution and two (2) years of experience in technical writing OR Completion of DoD/USCG technical "A" school and four (4) years of experience in technical writing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Excel application.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools and applications.
- Ability to problem solve and identify, implement and/or monitor alternative solutions.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply requirements applicable to the scope of work.
- Strong organizational, time management, and meeting facilitation skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with U.S. Coast Guard C5I services preferred.
