Technical Writer – ESA/Protected Species (Marine/Ocean/Coastal)

Overview

CASE is seeking a senior technical writer to help draft and edit of high-visibility ESA consultation documents and regulatory materials for NOAA Fisheries’ Office of Protected Resources (OPR).

You will work alongside federal scientists, technologists, attorneys, and policy leaders to develop models that help ensure marine mammals, sea turtles, and endangered species are protected through sound science and legally defensible analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and edit Biological Opinions and concurrence letters
• Edit recovery plans and listing petitions
• Review documents per ESA Section 7 QA/QC procedures
• Compile and synthesize scientific data
• Develop briefing documents and white papers

Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required

• BS in environmental science, policy, or related field
• 3+ years technical writing experience
• Experience with ESA documentation strongly preferred
• Exceptional editing skills
