Key Accountabilities
- Maintain underwriting strategy aligned with performance metrics, data, and insights.
- Collaborate with Global Colleagues and Business Unit Heads of Underwriting for portfolio quality and performance.
- Drive initiatives that improve technical underwriting guidelines and best practices.
- Manage and direct various projects, ensuring alignment of resources and successful outcomes.
- Tackle complex queries and referrals within delegated authority.
- Assist with approving terms and conditions and addressing Line of Business-wide issues.
- Oversee portfolio management, analyzing profitability and growth of specialty areas.
- Implement changes and solutions for aspects requiring improvement.
- Monitor and enhance Technical Price accuracy.
- Lead underwriting operational transformations and establish a robust governance framework.
- Contribute to strategic Line of Business underwriting goals and policies.
- Partner with peers and Business Units to execute underwriting strategies.
- Participate in Technical Underwriting Reviews, identifying trends and contributing to action plans.
- Handle compliance-related queries and participate in regulatory exams and insurance department inquiries.
- Develop and deliver underwriting technical training content and address emerging issues.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience in Underwriting, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ years of experience in Underwriting.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPCU certification,
- Advanced knowledge of Auto lines of business,
- Portfolio management, underwriting, product underwriting, product development, risk selection, and pricing experience,
- Strong influencing, collaboration, conflict resolution, and presentation skills,
- Executive presence and ability to interact across organizational levels,
- Experience in innovative and creative thinking.
Pay and Benefits
Your pay at Zurich is determined by your role, location, skills, and experience. Zurich follows local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The proposed salary range for this position is $132,500.00 - $217,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
