About the role

Monument Chemical serves the specialty chemicals industry and produces a variety of solvents, intermediates, specialty fuels, and other specialty products. The company offers industry-leading Custom Manufacturing services and has a range of opportunities for growth and development. This role is responsible for organizing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for professional, technical, and hourly employees across Gulf Coast sites.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and conducts employee training programs across Gulf Coast sites
  • Conducts ongoing evaluations to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommends modifications as necessary
  • Develops and updates training curriculums, monitors employee progress, and maintains records of training attendance
  • Participates in audits and maintains training records for the site, including working with area trainers to ensure operations records are in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Drives improvements in computer-based training and evaluates replacement systems
  • Coordinates, develops, and delivers safety training to help drive enhanced operational discipline and compliance
  • Manages the learning system and works with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure all materials are reviewed
  • Tracks and reports compliance metrics, including training completion rates, overdue training, and audit findings

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Training & Development, Business Administration or Management, or Occupational Health & Safety (EHS / HSE)
  • 5+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or related safety environment
  • Demonstrated skills to complete work independently and through influence
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications and database entry
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and interact effectively across all levels of the site organization

Skills And Abilities

  • Good oral communication skills to effectively deliver training to individuals and groups
  • Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence and remain solution-focused
  • Proven strong oral and written skills with the ability to communicate effectively from senior management to plant level employees
  • People management skills, including the ability to establish trust, motivate, and train team members
  • Computer skills, such as MS Office, are required

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

The role requires working in a variety of environments, including walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping. The role is also subject to environmental conditions, including extreme heat, vibration, and hazards. The ability to wear appropriate PPE for tasks as required is necessary.
