About the role
The Technical Tax Partner is a senior leadership role responsible for providing highly sophisticated tax planning, advisory, compliance, and controversy services to multinational entities, financial services firms, private investment funds, and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals. This role requires deep technical expertise across international, federal, and state/local income and transfer taxes, combined with strong client relationship management, practice leadership, and business development capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide highly sophisticated tax planning, advisory, compliance, and controversy services to multinational entities, financial services firms, private investment funds, and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance on complex tax issues and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, building trust and loyalty through exceptional service and communication.
- Contribute to the growth and success of the firm by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic plans, and driving revenue growth.
- Stay current with evolving tax laws and regulations, and apply this knowledge to provide clients with timely and accurate tax advice.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to ensure seamless integration of tax services with broader business strategies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in tax advisory and/or compliance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex tax issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Experience working with multinational entities, financial services firms, private investment funds, and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals.
- Knowledge of international, federal, and state/local income and transfer taxes.
- Experience in tax controversy resolution and litigation support.
- Experience in tax planning and compliance for private equity, hedge funds, and other alternative asset classes.
