About the role
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) has a requirement for technical and engineering support in the systems engineering, integration, maintenance, documentation, and development and operation of training simulations. SimIS seeks a Technical Systems Analyst to provide analytical and technical support for shore-based training systems, focusing on scenario development, system integration, and performance analysis. This position requires strong technical skills and the ability to analyze complex simulation systems and training requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical analysis of simulation systems and training requirements
- Support scenario development, verification, and validation activities
- Analyze system performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Develop technical documentation including specifications and procedures
- Support configuration management activities and change control processes
- Participate in technical review meetings and provide analytical input
- Conduct system integration studies and compatibility assessments
- Analyze training effectiveness and recommend system enhancements
- Support engineering change proposal development and review
- Prepare technical reports and briefings for management and government customers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or related technical field
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in systems analysis or military simulation systems
- Experience with scenario development and validation processes
- Knowledge of military training systems and simulation technologies
- Travel required: 25%
- Proficiency in simulation system analysis and performance evaluation
- Experience with DIS/HLA simulation standards and protocols
- Knowledge of LUA scripting and scenario development tools
- Familiarity with system integration principles and methodologies
- Understanding of database management and data analysis tools
- Experience with technical documentation and reporting
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
- Experience with requirements analysis and system specification development
- Knowledge of verification and validation processes
- Understanding of configuration management principles
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and technical teams
- Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to analysis
- Ability to translate operational requirements into technical specifications
