Technical Support Representative

About the role

The Technical Rep works closely with the sales force and lab to support plant implementations, training, troubleshooting, color matching, customer product performance requirements, documentation, and account maintenance. This role accelerates sales and implementation cycles by involving the technician in designated accounts, with final approval from the National Technical Manager.

Responsibilities

• Work with the sales force to ensure customer and company expectations are met.
• Document and communicate with the lab on all field formula adjustments to maintain product stability and film integrity.
• Communicate with team members and customers about product needs and timelines.
• Manage and administer operations with authority to make decisions based on concerns raised by the team or customers.

Qualifications

• A four-year college degree or 5 years of experience in the Coatings and application-related field.
• Ability to work with percentages and ratios, understand the metric system, and produce results independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• In-depth knowledge of coating systems, application equipment, and solvents/additives.
• Ability to formulate colors and analyze issues using facts and processes.
• Familiarity with testing parameters such as KCMA, AWI, and ASTM.
• Effective communication skills within and across departments.
