About the role
This is an hourly, full-time position in Manteno, IL, serving as a direct point of contact for end-user technical support. The Systems Administrator ensures the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems that support daily business operations.
Responsibilities
- Support and resolve help desk issues/tickets by gathering information to identify needs and provide security and industry best-practice solutions.
- Install, configure, and deploy PC, server hardware, and software, including operating systems, applications, and patches (possible night and weekend work) to maintain effective service operations.
- Support, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain server issues and security for enterprise and large-scale applications.
- Provide Active Directory management assistance, including managing user and computer accounts.
- Troubleshoot, review, and resolve blocked websites; perform duties related to web filter management.
- Manage, deploy, configure, and maintain servers in virtualized and traditional environments.
- Actively monitor systems and networks, diagnose and resolve complex software and networking issues, and automate routine tasks.
- Provide support for device management (MDM) and application packaging.
- Install PC and server hardware components such as disks and memory; model and test changes in a test environment before production implementation.
- Support HACO Culinary directory services infrastructure, including hardware configuration, upgrades, group architecture, account maintenance, and MFA authentication for network access.
- Create and maintain written and verbal procedures, technical documentation, training materials, standards, reports, and other documents as assigned.
- Evaluate systems and alternate solutions; develop functional specifications, standards, and requirements for hardware and software purchases to ensure optimum performance.
- Make recommendations for changes and additional services.
- Provide general networking and technical support as needed.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports related to assigned activities.
- Demonstrate in-depth technical experience with Office 365: Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint, including management of user accounts, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and in-service training.
- Apply industry-standard best practices for infrastructure, theories, and security.
- Understand networking protocols and topology; use network management software, including Active Directory and computer management applications.
- Develop and deploy system images, including application delivery and electronic inventory tracking.
- Apply networking concepts, practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Understand security principles, including user directory structures and group policy.
- Develop functional specifications, standards, and design requirements for hardware and software purchases to ensure optimum system and end-user performance.
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Stay current with technology changes and learn new systems/network methodologies.
- Work effectively with constant interruptions and meet schedules and timelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Information Systems or other IT-related certifications.
- 3–5 years of IT experience with hardware and software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze processes, identify problems, and deliver solutions.
- Up to 10% travel may be required between manufacturing plants.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Strong business acumen.
Pay
$80,000 – $95,000 per year.
