About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing, pricing, geo-diversity, second source manufacturing, and supplier relationship efforts for supply resiliency for networking, storage, core compute, and AI/ML products.
- Manage supply chain complexity when qualifying suppliers and manufacturing lines during transitions from development to mass production.
- Deliver component multi-sourcing strategies, pricing, and enable contract manufacturing for the same platforms to ensure supply chain resiliency.
- Act as primary supplier contact focused on capacity planning and contract agreements during product development to ensure scalable manufacturing capacity at launch.
- Develop and implement strategic IC sourcing strategies for AWS hardware infrastructure.
- Identify key technology trends and drive supplier product roadmaps and execute strategic initiatives.
- Negotiate and implement complex supplier agreements and contracts with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Develop negotiation strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable supplier relationships.
- Provide weekly core-team updates and deliver executive-level updates on a monthly basis.
- Handle vendor escalations to resolve issues related to assigned category.
- Present to senior leadership via written narratives.
Requirements
- 6+ years of responding to requests for proposals (determining requirements, matching requirements to technical approach and solutions, developing solutions against requirements).
- 6+ years of Global Category Manager experience.
- 5+ years of developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements.
- 5+ years of working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking.
- 5+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage.
- 5+ years of program management, workforce strategy development, or metrics-driven decision making.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
- Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences.
- Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences.
- Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations.
- Master’s degree in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources, or related field, or MBA.
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements.
- Experience using analytical tools for workforce metrics and reporting.
Pay
Base salary range: $147,900.00 – $200,100.00 USD annually (Seattle, WA).
