Technical Solutions Engineer Leader, Ford Energy
Job Overview
At Ford, you’ll work on ideas that matter, alongside passionate people who want to make a global impact. Together, we’re shaping the next era of transportation—grounded in purpose, driven by progress. Make your move.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the final technical authority with sign-off for all bids, ensuring alignment with the subsidiary's technical risk and governance standards.
- Embed a “Safety-First” culture into the solution design phase, ensuring all proposed configurations meet or exceed industry safety and regulatory standards (UL/NFPA).
- Own the intake, triage, and prioritization of customer requests, ensuring effective workload balance across the technical solutions team.
- Formalize the “closed-loop” process, ensuring customer technical requirements, market trends, and field learnings are systematically fed back into the Product Roadmap.
- Prioritize “Design for Serviceability” by ensuring sales configurations focus on long-term asset reliability, uptime, and ease of maintenance, rather than just the initial sale.
- Provide clear technical recommendations and risk assessments to support long-term commercial strategy and bid positioning.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for internal and external executives, representing Ford Energy in high-stakes customer reviews and strategic business discussions.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of technical solutions engineers, establishing a culture of technical rigor and commercial urgency.
- Establish and continuously improve technical solutions workflows and governance to increase speed, quality, and consistency of executive-level proposals.
- Oversee the technical scoping and configuration of BESS projects, including system sizing (MW/MWh) and site layout optimizations.
- Interface with simulation teams to model battery degradation and financial performance (LCOS/NPV) based on specific customer use cases.
- Ensure a seamless technical handoff from the solutioning phase to delivery and commissioning, capturing lessons learned for recurrence prevention.
