Job Summary
General Atomics (GA) Energy Group seeks a Technical Solutions Architect to join our team in the field of magnetic fusion energy. The role involves bridging technical concepts with customer requirements to deliver innovative solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and research teams to understand and align magnetic fusion technologies with customer needs.
- Work closely with customers to gather and analyze their specific technical requirements and challenges.
- Provide technical guidance and support during pre-award engagements, participating in customer meetings, presentations, and workshops.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, clearly articulating complex technical concepts.
- Collaborate with engineering and scientific teams to validate the technical feasibility of proposed solutions and participate in proof-of-concept demonstrations.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams during the implementation phase, overseeing project execution.
- Stay updated with advancements in magnetic fusion research and apply this knowledge to enhance solutions and develop new offerings.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Ph.D. in engineering, physics, business, public policy, or a related technical field, with six or more years of progressively complex marketing/sales experience.
- Substantive understanding of technical and business concepts, principles, practices, and market drivers relevant to advanced energy technologies, research and development programs, or related industries.
- An expanding knowledge of business development processes, government funding mechanisms, strategic partnerships, customer engagement, proposal development, and technology commercialization activities.
- Strong communication, analytical, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and coordination across multidisciplinary technical and business organizations.
- Experience supporting customer engagements, business capture activities, proposal development, strategic planning, market analysis, or technology commercialization efforts is highly desirable.
- Experience interacting with government agencies, national laboratories, industrial partners, or research organizations is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional efforts involving multiple stakeholders and build new business opportunities from concept to execution.
- Able to work extended hours and travel as required.
