About the role

The Technical Services Manager position within Lesaffre's Baking Division plays a critical role in supporting our clients and driving business growth. This role requires a high level of expertise in implementation, quality control, and technical services.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to safety protocols and participate in safety programs
  • Provide technical support and services to new, existing, and potential accounts
  • Aid the sales team in gaining new business and maintaining client relationships
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of product application and line extension projects
  • Conduct field evaluations and provide recommendations for product improvements
  • Maintain accurate testing instructions and provide technical service to customers
  • Assist in project development and design
  • Stay updated on industry trends and baking processes
  • Attend trade shows, summits, and continuing education to share insights
  • Provide technical training and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Communicate effectively with management and production personnel
  • Troubleshoot application problems and participate in product testing
  • Identify market opportunities and make recommendations for new product development

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and formal baking training
  • 5 or more years of practical experience in the baking industry
  • Excellent analytical skills to solve difficult technical problems for major customers
  • Ability to analyze baking process, explain and demonstrate products, and make objective recommendations to correct application problems while maintaining awareness of customers’ concerns and quality expectations
  • Ability to travel 85% of the time throughout North America with occasional additional international travel (must maintain a current passport and/or VISA)
  • Weekend and early/late working hours are required as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and formal baking training
  • 5 or more years of practical experience in the baking industry

  • Proficiency in a second language preferred but not required – Spanish or French
