About the role

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Technical Services Engineer (Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Mission Module Engineer) Level 2 or 3 based out of San Diego, CA. This position supports the Littoral Combat Ship Mission Package Design, Engineering, Production and Sustainment (DEP&S) Program.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Mission Module (MM) equipment Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the DEP&S Program.
  • Support the operations of the Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF) in planning and executing MCM Mission Modules lifecycle sustainment both ashore and aboard LCS Class Ships.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships and liaise with other organizations within the Northrop Grumman Corporation and NAVSEA enterprises.
  • Manage and work with government, military and staff on milestones and assist with schedule development, preparing correspondence and reports of a technical nature.
  • Ensure major projects and program schedules and plans are integrated across functional groups including training, operations, material, and quality.
  • Research parts for technicians and customer representatives.
  • Review and coordinate with logistics personnel to provide feedback to equipment Allowable Parts Lists (APLs).
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of company technical products, programs and systems.
  • Provide expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshoot product and modify product to customer requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for MM Engineering Change Proposals (ECP).
  • Develop Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW) for repair and overhaul of MM equipment using manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Understand and utilize Navy programs of record to include: MM Planned Maintenance System (PMS) utilizing the SKED 3.2 program & MM Corrective Maintenance (CSMP) utilizing Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) Automated Work Number (AWN).
  • Job development and management.

Qualifications

  • Technical Services Engineer (MCM Engineer) Level 2: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years related experience. Additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in sustainment of military systems and equipment, such as, MCM Unmanned Surface Vehicle (MCM USV), Airborne Mine Neutralization System (AMNS), Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS), the AN/AQS-20C Mine Hunting Sonar or similar. Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship, climbing 20 feet ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier. Must be willing to travel up to 25% both CONUS (continental U.S.) and OCONUS (outside the continental U.S.). US Citizenship and an active/current Secret Clearance are required.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
