About the Role
VP Supply Corp is a family-owned distributor of plumbing, HVAC, industrial, and electrical supplies serving contractors across the Northeast for over 60 years. We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technical Service Advisor to join our team in Rochester, NY. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted technical resource for both our customers and internal teams, providing product expertise, troubleshooting challenging HVAC issues, supporting warranty claims, delivering technical training, and working directly with contractors to ensure successful installations and long-term customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to contractors, technicians, and internal team members by phone, email, and in person
- Assist customers with HVAC equipment applications, installation questions, troubleshooting, and system operation
- Conduct technical training on HVAC products and systems
- Perform job site visits, when needed, to help diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
- Support warranty claims by reviewing applications, communicating claim status, and coordinating with manufacturers
- Help resolve warranty disputes between manufacturers and customers
- Provide technical guidance on ductless, mini-split, and VRF systems, including controls and applications
- Partner with sales, service, warranty, and product management teams to support customer success
- Attend manufacturer training programs and stay current on new products and technologies
Requirements
- 3–5 years of HVAC industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, installation, troubleshooting, and system applications
- Experience with ductless and/or VRF systems, including controls, is strongly preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other computer applications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight travel for training or customer site visits
- Ability to climb ladders and work comfortably at heights when necessary
