Duties And Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains professional business relationships with customers and influences the selection of technology, products and services.
- Works with sales and customers in a consultative capacity to assess customer needs for automation and controls (Remote Terminal Units - RTU’s and Flow Computers).
- Reviews and assesses customer technical specifications, written and verbal, to develop and propose Company products and service deliverables.
- Works with the operations and service teams to develop proposals, define a scope of deliverables, define a project strategy, and advise on technical elements of solutions implementation.
- Maintains a high degree of industry knowledge and awareness, including trends, technology advancements, significant accomplishments by others in the business, state of the competition, significant events related to our business and the customers’ businesses.
- Maintains a high degree of product and application knowledge.
- Develops and participates in presentations and product demonstrations to Company personnel and customers.
- Develops and conducts internal trainings for the ETS team and other Puffer Sales Teams.
- Supports efforts to educate customers Company personnel on the industry specific requirements associated represented products and services through solution demos in both new and legacy products.
- Conducts product training sessions for new and existing customers.
- Tests and evaluates new firmware and complementary products.
- Aids customers with migrating existing products to next generation products, including understanding use cases and new product capabilities.
- Supports panel shop needs for programming of hardware and software solutions to support customer RTU Panel projects.
- Assists customers with occasional on-site commissioning and startup requests.
Qualifications
- Education/Knowledge: Associates degree in a technical discipline required, Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
- Experience/Skills: 5 years in the oil and gas production and/or mid-stream processing & transportation industry. Direct experience applying flow computers, instrumentation and control valves to the drilling, production, processing and transportation operations in the oil and gas market. Experience with DCS / PLC / SCADA system definition, architecture development and controls configuration. Knowledge with sizing, specification and selection of measurement instrumentation and final control devices.
- Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communications. Proficient in the use of common office software applications, including MSOffice products. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to plan, prioritize and organize individual work tasks.
