Technical Sales Representative Trainee

About The Job

The primary purpose of Technical Sales Rep (TSR) Trainee is to develop selling and delivery skills of Hawkins products, equipment and services. Training will occur at the TSR Trainee’s assigned branch with the expectation or traveling to other locations to support individual development.

• Deliver products to customers with emphasis on professionalism, timeliness and reliability
• Works with trainer and leadership to maintain territory profitability with customers by setting and monitoring customer pricing and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Establishes customer routes that optimize efficiencies and deliver on customer expectations
• Pursue new opportunities for profit growth

Duties And Responsibilities

• Establish productive, professional relationships with potential, new and existing customers
• Follow all Hawkins safety and training procedures
• Safely deliver chemical products following Hawkins product transfer protocols and equipment
• Safely install and service all products and equipment
• Comply with all DOT operating, maintenance and load securement standards and all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety, health regulations and standard operating procedures
• Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified

Preferred Background/Experince

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License and comply with DOT standards
• Must be able to work with or learn to use the computer and software systems at Hawkins
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to engage with customers with effective written and verbal communications
• Ability to learn and perform math calculations to determine product profits, pump flow rates, etc.
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Available to regularly work a schedule that consists of 10-12 hour days and requires some overnight travel
• Demonstrated problem solving skills

Physical Requirements

• Very heavy work including exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds regularly, 75 lbs. occasionally
• Able to regularly climb in and out of truck cab and onto and off of the truck gate
• Able to safely operate a forklift and commercial vehicle that transports chemicals including hazardous chemicals
• Able to communicate via spoken word and hear at normal speaking levels with or without correction
• Requires fine motor skills including the ability to grasp and work with tools
• Requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching
• Able to work in a variety of weather and environmental conditions

Travel

Travel up to 50%

Expected Compensation

$55,000-65,000/yr. + 5% Bonus Eligibility
