Job Purpose
EnerSys is seeking a qualified Technical Sales Representative to help us sell the products and services that our customers have grown to rely on. The Technical Sales Representative will have a passion for success, strong understanding of the sales process, excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, and go-getter with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consistently exceed your sales quota by retaining, growing, and prospecting clients within your account territory.
- Use product knowledge in conjunction with knowledge of customers’ project objectives to develop unique value propositions supported by financial impact analysis and feasibility studies.
- Use Salesforce for customer relationship management activities.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, meetings, and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments.
- Create, maintain, and enhance relationships with key personnel for product development and sales.
- Willingness to travel nationally on a frequent basis.
- A drive for self-education and learning new products, services, and business processes.
- Other activities include proposals, pricing, presentations, forecasting, program management, and other duties as required.
- The primary duty is to exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters.
- Identify the right customer stakeholders and build connections quickly to drive consensus for deals; works cooperatively with wide range of internal stakeholders for deal success.
- Independently and collaboratively strategize for solving deal-level challenges.
Qualifications
- To perform the Technical Sales Representative job successfully, an individual must have prior experience in sales.
- Minimum Qualifications: At least 2-5 years of sales experience. High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications: A college degree is preferred. Specific industry sales experience is a plus, especially a proven track record of success selling advanced battery chemistries.
Driving Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record with minimal traffic violations.
- Must be 18 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
- Able and willing to travel to customer sites - 70% travel
- Able and willing to do overnight travel
- Primarily local travel with occasional national travel and overnight travel throughout the year
General Job Requirements
- This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific drivers license and have additional driving requirements.

- This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
