Seeking a driven and motivated engineer to join our sales team, focusing on growing business with existing customers and developing new business. This position involves applications engineering, sales support, and field service work in a result-driven, fast-paced environment.

You will undergo extensive formalized training and work under a mentor to develop skills in CaptiveAire products, application engineering processes, and business development and sales strategies.

A Day in the Life

A technical sales role encompasses a variety of tasks, with projects spanning design, procurement, coordination, and post-sale support. Typical tasks include:

  • Outside sales meetings and calls to build relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Application engineering using sound engineering principles.
  • Project management of installations, ensuring equipment is delivered on schedule.
  • Service and technical support of existing equipment.
  • Supporting end users to maintain high levels of customer service, including on-site assistance and remote troubleshooting.
  • Two to three days per week in the office working on bids, one to two days on job sites, and one day dedicated to territory development (e.g., presentations, visiting customers).

Sales engineers emphasize the rewarding nature of providing solutions, working directly with end users, and seeing projects through from design to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide integrated application engineering and design support for a wide range of ventilation applications, delivering sustainable products and the latest technologies tailored to customer needs.
  • Work directly with engineers, contractors, end users, and food service dealers.
  • Handle inside sales support, application engineering, and outside sales, including presentations, quotes, submittals, technical product support, job site visits, and troubleshooting.
  • Educate and promote CaptiveAire products through conference calls, meetings, presentations, and product demos.
  • Research and develop new business opportunities with new and existing users.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service, prioritizing quick turnaround times and going above and beyond for customers.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes and the customer experience.

This position includes 6-12 months of training in Rochester, depending on experience.

Requirements

  • 0-5 years of experience.
  • 4-year technical degree in a mechanical, electrical, construction, or science-oriented curriculum preferred.
  • Excellent computer, organizational, and communication/presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous learning.
  • Strong desire to interface with customers.
  • Embrace new technologies and possess business savvy.
  • Passion for work with an aggressive nature to succeed.
  • Willingness to travel for training opportunities.
  • For engineering graduates: expectation to complete the FE Exam within 6 months of employment.

Pay

$70k-$100k base salary, negotiable based on experience, with additional monthly bonuses based on productivity and profits.
