About the role

The Technical Publications Manager will oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for a range of products. This includes writing, editing, and updating user guides, installation manuals, and other technical resources. The role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of product development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of technical documentation strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, engineering, and sales to ensure that technical documentation aligns with product features and customer needs
  • Manage a team of technical writers and editors to produce high-quality, accurate, and consistent technical content
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to technical documentation
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in technical writing and publishing
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing, publishing, or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage a team of technical writers and editors
  • Strong knowledge of technical writing standards and best practices
  • Experience with document management systems and software tools used in technical writing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Experience with AI tools for content analysis and review
  • Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and standards for technical documentation
  • Experience with agile methodologies and iterative project management

Skills

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other relevant software
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS)
