About the role
The Technical Publications Manager will oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for a range of products. This includes writing, editing, and updating user guides, installation manuals, and other technical resources. The role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of product development processes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of technical documentation strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, engineering, and sales to ensure that technical documentation aligns with product features and customer needs
- Manage a team of technical writers and editors to produce high-quality, accurate, and consistent technical content
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to technical documentation
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in technical writing and publishing
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing, publishing, or a related field
- Proven ability to manage a team of technical writers and editors
- Strong knowledge of technical writing standards and best practices
- Experience with document management systems and software tools used in technical writing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Experience with AI tools for content analysis and review
- Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and standards for technical documentation
- Experience with agile methodologies and iterative project management
Skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other relevant software
- Experience with content management systems (CMS)
