Technical Proposal Engineer – Civil

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil - Technical Proposal Engineer to join our pre-construction team, supporting the development of competitive and technically robust proposals for civil engineering projects. This role will primarily focus on assisting with the creation and refinement of earthworks and drainage strategies for tender submissions, working closely with the estimating and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist the estimating team in preparing earthwork and drainage methodologies for bid submissions.
• Analyze bid documents, specifications, and preliminary designs to support the development of technical strategies.
• Collaborate with design, planning, and commercial teams to ensure alignment of technical inputs.
• Support the creation of narratives, sketches, and data tables for use in proposal documentation.
• Conduct research into site conditions, materials, and construction techniques relevant to each bid.
• Participate in technical review meetings and track actions related to proposal inputs.
• Manage and maintain technical documentation.
• Ensure all technical submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered on schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Must have previous experience working on infrastructure or construction bids.
• Experience with NEC contracts, method statements, or schedule development.
• Knowledge of BIM, GIS, or environmental impact considerations in civil works.

Skills & Competencies

• A clear understanding of earthwork and drainage principles in a construction context.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
• Understanding of bid/tender processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and exposure to CAD or Civil 3D.
• Enthusiastic, organized, and eager to grow within a collaborative team environment.
