About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Project Manager – IBM Sterling OMS to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Order Management System initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IBM Sterling OMS, retail and eCommerce business processes, stakeholder management, and Agile project delivery. This role requires close collaboration with business teams, architects, developers, QA teams, and external partners to ensure successful project execution and business outcomes.
Essential Functions
- Lead end-to-end delivery of IBM Sterling OMS projects, enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, requirements, and success criteria.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Cook up cross-functional teams including OMS developers, architects, QA teams, business analysts, and external vendors.
- Manage project execution across Order Management, Inventory Management, Fulfillment, Returns, and Omnichannel processes.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Track project progress, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues while providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.
- Cook up system integrations involving OMS, ERP, WMS, POS, eCommerce platforms, and third-party providers.
- Support UAT planning, testing coordination, deployment activities, and production releases.
- Drive issue resolution and manage project escalations effectively.
- Maintain project documentation, governance reports, RAID logs, and stakeholder communications.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of project management experience with enterprise technology projects.
- Experience managing IBM Sterling OMS or Order Management System implementations and enhancements.
- Strong understanding of Order Management, Inventory, Fulfillment, Supply Chain, and Retail/eCommerce processes.
- Experience managing integrations with ERP, WMS, POS, CRM, and eCommerce platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, planning, and risk management skills.
