Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. is seeking a Technical Project Manager I to join our team. In this role, you will manage technical projects from initial scoping to product launch or installation at customer sites, including custom, standard, and design and development projects for chromatography, dilution, filtration, synthesis, and other downstream process equipment.
About the role
The Technical Project Manager I will own and be responsible for their projects’ success and outcomes, leading cross-functional teams through gated processes for design, development, manufacture, testing, and release.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams through gated processes for design, development, manufacture, testing, and release.
- Create project schedules and monitor budgets; track milestone targets and completion dates.
- Identify risks and build contingency plans as required.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Design, Assembly, Automation, Quality, Sales, Accounting, Logistics, Management) regarding project activities, deliverables, and timelines.
- Build and maintain customer relationships, engaging them throughout the project with a focus on customer service and managing expectations.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance procedures; manage project changes and non-conformances using approved company procedures.
- Lead and facilitate meetings: construct agendas, create presentations, document minutes/decisions/action items, and resolve conflicts when necessary.
- Manage project documentation, including submittals, equipment punch lists, lessons learned, crating/shipping checklists, and vendor communications.
- Confirm material orders, track delivery status, and communicate with vendors for clarification or issue resolution.
- Manage project scope and communicate clearly with the customer when new scope is requested and a change order may be required.
- Contribute to project technical decision-making to support the project engineer.
Requirements
- BS in engineering required.
- 2+ years of Project Management experience required.
- Fluid Management or Bioprocess experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, ERP (Business Central), and project management software (ClickUp preferred).
- Interest in PMP certification; certification in progress is a plus.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and persistent with strong delegation skills.
Additional Details
- Travel up to 15% to customer sites for project meetings, domestic and international.
- Onsite role in Glenview, IL; schedule options: 8 AM–5 PM or 7 AM–4 PM, Monday–Friday.
Pay
The base compensation range for this role is $75,000–$85,000, influenced by factors such as experience, skills, performance, and internal equity.
