Technical Project Manager
About the role
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) serves as the central hub for coordinating projects, managing schedules, and facilitating cross-departmental collaboration, while also ensuring that project data, reporting, and documentation are accurate and reliable in JIRA and Deltek Vantagepoint.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Coordination
- Act as the primary point of coordination for all Technology & Innovation division projects.
- Manage project schedules, scope, deliverables, and dependencies across multiple teams.
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication, ensuring alignment between technical teams, internal stakeholders, and leadership.
- Proactively identify risks, issues, and resource conflicts, escalating as needed.
- Drive projects forward to successful completion while maintaining accountability through accurate tracking and reporting.
- Project Administration & Data Stewardship
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records in JIRA (task and sprint tracking) and Deltek Vantagepoint (financials, reporting, and controls).
- Prepare and distribute project dashboards, reports, and portfolio-level summaries for leadership review.
- Ensure consistency in documentation, including charters, meeting minutes, task logs, and lessons learned.
- Support resource management and forecasting by maintaining clean project data.
- Technical Oversight & Alignment
- Apply technical understanding to facilitate discussions with software development, AI, GIS, IT administration, data analytics, and field technology teams.
- Ensure projects follow established technical standards, security requirements, compliance obligations, and organizational goals.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements, supporting clear communication between stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Support adoption of consistent project management practices across TIN teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Cook up with project sponsors, department leads, and technical staff to clarify requirements and deliverables.
- Lead project meetings, status updates, and decision-making sessions.
- Provide structured communication tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Engage with clients when project scope includes client-facing deliverables or collaboration.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 2–5 years of project management experience in a technology or engineering environment.
- PMP, CAPM, or Agile certification (Scrum Master, SAFe) desirable.
- Technical & Administrative Skills
- Proficiency with JIRA (or similar work management tools).
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint (or comparable ERP/CRM platforms).
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
- Understanding of software development lifecycles, IT workflows, or engineering project practices.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint).

Location Note
United States; Remote
Salary Range
$105,000 - $120,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
