Technical Project Manager
About the role
We are seeking a driven Technical Project Manager to join our team in our South Burlington, VT office. You will manage the development of new industrial and rugged computers, edge systems, and servers, driving cross-functional teams, managing budgets, and ensuring on-time delivery of our innovative products. You will oversee all development stages, driving technical quality in electrical, mechanical, and firmware designs, and ensuring all products meet stringent ruggedized design, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle management standards.
This role requires an onsite presence at our South Burlington, VT or Cary, NC office. We encourage candidates who are able to relocate or comfortably commute to apply.
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Program Leadership: Drive development projects from initial concept through prototype build, validation, and ultimately to production, utilizing a structured gate-staged development process.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for all engineering initiatives, including detailed schedules, budgets, sourcing, and prototype build strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, from senior leadership to highly specialized engineers.
- Risk Management: Take ownership of project and portfolio risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
- On-Time Delivery & Budget Control: Ensure the timely execution of projects across all internal departments and external partners, while staying within the project development budget.
- Transparent Communication: Provide clear and consistent progress updates to both internal and external stakeholders throughout all phases of development.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement process efficiencies and cross-functional standards, enabling faster development cycles and scalable product delivery.

The team's success relies on collaboration, creative thinking, and a commitment to being at the forefront of technology. Roles on our Engineering team include Electrical, Mechanical, Applications, and Regulatory.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or Computer Science; a Master's degree is a strong plus.
- Demonstrable expertise in computer hardware, electrical design, mechanical engineering, and/or system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, risk mitigation, and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and conflicting priorities.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet) is a bonus.
- A detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable work style.
