Technical Project Manager

Grantek · Portland, OR · 2 days ago
Hybrid$80k–$95k/yrFull-time

About the role

Grantek is a recognized leading provider of integrated automation, smart manufacturing and industrial information solutions in the global marketplace. We partner with some of the world’s most respected Fortune 100 companies and recognized consumer brands—including Tassimo, Brita, MillerCoors, Coca-Cola, and Kraft-Heinz—to deliver complex manufacturing and industrial information solutions. This is not a typical project management role; we seek a technically grounded engineer who can own the full lifecycle of automation projects, from identifying opportunities with clients through design, development, on-site commissioning, and handover.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Grantek at local client sites in the Portland area: build relationships, understand client needs, and identify new project opportunities.
  • Evaluate new project opportunities and develop technical proposals, including scope definition, budgets, and timelines.
  • Manage project activities from conception through commissioning, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and progress tracking.
  • Contribute hands-on to PlantPAx DCS development, including configuration of process objects, faceplates, alarm management, and batch control sequences.
  • Develop and maintain PLC/PAC programs in Studio 5000 Logix Designer for process control applications.
  • Configure HMI and SCADA visualization using FactoryTalk View SE and/or other platforms.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, and deliverables to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Commission new solutions at client sites; find opportunities for improvements and follow-on work.
  • Create documentation, including project proposals, engineering notes, design traceability documentation, and case studies.
  • Collaborate with Grantek’s engineering team to ensure successful project delivery across all phases.
  • Follow up on pending quotes and maintain consistency in quoting by following corporate guidelines.
  • Learn new technologies and mentor colleagues on your areas of expertise.
