About the role

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex XR applications and features, from initial technical scoping and resource planning to and consumer launch.
  • Partner with engineering leads, product and UX stakeholders to define technical requirements, manage internal and external dependencies, and resolve conflicting priorities.
  • See around corners to identify technical risks in the XR stack and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and refine lightweight, agile-based workflows that allow the team to iterate quickly while maintaining external timelines and commitments.
  • Provide clear, data-driven updates to leadership on program health, milestones, and strategic pivots within the XR Apps portfolio programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR)/XR space.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for consumer-facing applications at the software/hardware product intersection.
  • Demonstrated track record of working effectively with executive engineering, product and UX leads to balance tight timelines with technical excellence management.
  • Proficiency in using data, building dashboards, writing simple scripts to drive engineering decisions and performance optimizations for fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to navigate extreme ambiguity in 0 to 1 product environments where standard industry playbooks may not yet exist, and opportunity to define them.
