Technical Program Manager, Production Engineering

Fluidstack · Austin, TX · 2 mo ago
On-siteProject Management$155k–$183k/yrFull-time

About the role

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators.

How We Operate

We operate with extreme ownership, full autonomy, and a focus on velocity. We challenge every assumption and prioritize the best idea, without egos or analogy thinking. We're driven by a love of the game and a desire to push the frontier of AI forward.

Role Scope

The role involves driving programs across the production engineering org, including fleet tooling rollouts, reliability initiatives, and cross-site standards. You will also run the cadence between production engineering, data center operations, and software teams to ensure fixes ship fleet-wide.

Additionally, you will own escalations from live sites through root cause to closed corrective action and build reporting to inform leadership on the fleet's status.

Requirements

  • Experience running technical programs across infrastructure or operations engineering teams
  • Ability to take incidents to root cause and drive fixes across affected systems
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize tasks
  • Technical fluency to challenge engineer estimates and provide input
  • Strong writing skills to craft updates for leadership

Bonus experience includes data center or fleet operations, SQL and dashboarding, incident management systems, and hardware-software interface programs.

Qualifications

We're looking for exceptional people who are passionate about this problem space. If you don't fit this role exactly, we encourage you to apply and tell us where you would fit.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $155K - $183K.
