Overview

The Developer Experience and Product Platform (DEeP) org at Stripe empowers all of Stripe's products with a shared product platform to deliver high-quality, consistent, cross-product experiences. The OAP team focuses on providing a consistent and scalable developer experience and is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead critical security initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end program management for critical security initiatives including API key security, Account Takeover (ATO) prevention, login access controls, and other risk, security, and fraud prevention measures.
  • Drive cross-team dependencies and collaboration between security, fraud operations, and product engineering teams.
  • Track, communicate, and resolve program blockers across multiple workstreams.
  • Develop implementation roadmaps and execution strategies for complex security features.
  • Partner with engineering managers to define technical requirements and prioritize security enhancements.
  • Establish metrics and reporting processes to measure program effectiveness and security outcomes.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes when trade-offs arise between security, user experience, and development timelines.
  • Represent OAP security initiatives in cross-functional meetings and leadership reviews.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical program management experience with demonstrated success in security-focused initiatives.
  • Experience managing complex technical programs with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
  • Strong understanding of security concepts and best practices, particularly in API security, authentication systems, and access controls.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to various audiences.
  • Proven track record of influencing decisions across teams without direct authority.
  • Experience working with engineering and product teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience with payment systems, financial technology, or enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements related to data security (SOC2, PCI, etc.).
  • Experience with identity and access management systems.
  • Background in API development or platform security.
  • Previous experience working on developer platforms or developer experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with remote work.
  • Experience working in an office setting.

Location

  • Available in an office or remotely (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

  • Annual US base salary range: $157,700 - $236,500.
