About the Role

As a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), you are responsible for all electrical, controls, and mechanical assets in the data center. Given the highly critical nature of the environment, you will play a key role in ensuring operational tasks are fulfilled. Your responsibilities will include involvement in the design and acceptance of new data centers, defining maintenance regimes, approving operational procedures, and auditing compliance. You will also oversee root cause analysis, propose optimizations, and act as project owner for improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the building maintains 100% uptime using all reasonable methods, balancing health, safety, financial obligations, and client needs.
  • Oversee all critical infrastructure aspects of the site and manage the lifecycle of critical systems and assets.
  • Write technical specifications and reports to ensure compliance with Yondr Group processes and local regulations.
  • Monitor and coordinate the maintenance program for critical assets with the Yondr Ops team.
  • Coordinate the writing and approval of procedures for normal and emergency operations.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing project costs, risk assessments, and technical reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual).
  • Respond to incidents and instruct facility management teams on appropriate reactions.
  • Manage statutory registrations and compliance for electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure continuous technical professional development.
  • Provide input to services design and support coordination of other services packages.
  • Represent ownership in factory acceptance tests and site testing & commissioning activities.
  • Write site rules in compliance with local legislation and Yondr requirements, coordinating with HSE, CEM, and Technical Engineering.
  • Hold authority over the electrical installation as prescribed by law.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 8–10 years of relevant experience in electrical design and/or installation.
  • Good knowledge of standard practices in the design, construction, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Understanding of daily operations in critical environments (e.g., data centers or smart buildings).
  • Experience in project development and basic project management functions, including document management, communication, and collaboration.
  • Availability to provide emergency cover as required.
