Technical Product Owner - KYC

About the role

We’re hiring a Product Owner – KYC to work directly with our founders and build our customer verification product function from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision and roadmap for customer onboarding, identity verification, and ongoing due diligence.
• Lead a team of engineers and other cross-functional partners to design, deliver, and refine verification journeys, decisioning rules, and KYC systems.
• Define and track KPIs like verification completion rate, onboarding conversion, manual review rate, and time-to-verification.
• Turn regulatory requirements, customer risk profiles, and operational needs into clear product specifications.
• Continuously improve our KYC capabilities based on customer feedback, operational insights, and evolving regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Proven product experience in fintech, payments, or KYC / customer identity verification.
• Strong track record delivering data-driven products with engineering and analytics teams.
• Strong SQL or Python skills, with hands-on experience using data to analyse performance, identify problems, and inform product decisions.
• Analytical mindset; comfortable interpreting onboarding, verification, and operational performance metrics.
• Ability to balance regulatory requirements and risk management with a great customer experience.
• Comfortable working directly with founders in a fast-paced startup.

Qualifications

• Nice-to-haves: Experience in Latin American markets, Spanish or Portuguese language skills, experience scaling a KYC product from 0 to hundreds of thousands or millions of customers, previous experience in software engineering, data analytics, or another technical role.
