Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking professionals to support the readiness and sustainment of the US Air Force ICBM program. The ICBM System Program Office ensures a safe, secure, and reliable Minuteman III (MM III) weapon system through 2030. The position involves developing, writing, and editing technical publications and reviews contractor-provided technical data.
About the Role
The position is located at Hill AFB, Utah. Responsibilities include developing, writing, and editing technical publications, reviewing contractor-provided technical data, and performing other related duties.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit material for technical publications including changes and rewrites, TCTOs, TOPS, reports, briefs, instruction manuals, catalogs, and other technical publications.
- Review instructions, regulations, and guidelines, and similar material to become familiar with product or process terminology.
- Review drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, testing, and service of equipment.
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedures, and production sequence and details.
- Organize material and perform writing assignments according to specifications regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Write technical descriptions using knowledge of material standards, industrial processes, and operating procedures.
- Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content.
- Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, or charts to illustrate materials or sequences.
- Edit material for spelling, grammar, syntax, capitalization, consistency, format, and conformance to specifications.
- Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
- Coverage of TO editing activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 6+ Years relevant experience with a high school diploma
- 4+ Years relevant experience with an Associate's Degree
- 2+ Years relevant experience with a Bachelor's of Science Degree
- 0+ Years relevant experience with a Master's Degree
Skills
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of grammar, writing, punctuation, editing practices, and style practices
- Ability to review contractor provided technical data/manuals that must often be tailored or modified to fix language and configuration of existing related ICBM weapon system technical data
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in technical writing is preferred but not required with the appropriate demonstrable experience
- Knowledge of digital standard generalized markup language (SGML)
- Knowledge of technical data management policies
- Knowledge of the Air Force Technical Order Management system
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $61278 - $104173
This range is based on our market pay structures. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
