About the Role

The Technical Media Producer is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions, monitoring WIS's on-air streams, transmitter, FCC logs, and ingesting daily programming and commercial inventory. The role involves directing newscasts, station productions, and digital content elements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and direct using platforms such as Ross Overdrive automation, VizRT graphics, Panasonic PTZ cameras, and supporting control room equipment.
  • Manage robotic camera controls, prompter operation, audio operation, and in-house web production.
  • Monitor and manage FCC program and transmitter logs to ensure compliance with broadcast regulations.
  • Perform Master Control duties, including completing dub lists, log changes, receiving network feeds, and monitoring all on-air channels.
  • Work with AP ENPS, the newsroom computer system, and prep media for news as needed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment in studios and production areas.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet daily demands.
  • Train new personnel as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining clean studios and production areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Operating knowledge of PCs and graphics computers.
  • Willingness to work a non-traditional schedule, including late nights, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Good or corrected hearing and vision.
  • Clear English-speaking skills and the ability to articulate instructions effectively.
