About the role

The Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) role focuses on Cisco's Industrial Routing Portfolio, specifically SD-WAN, SASE, and SSE technologies. The TME collaborates with Product Management, Development, Test Teams, Customers, and Partners to drive adoption and provide technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on Cisco SD-WAN for unified management and security for IT/OT networks.
  • Emphasize cyber resiliency to maintain network operations during degraded states, such as during a cybersecurity attack.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Development, Test Teams, Customers, and Partners.
  • Drive adoption through internal and external training, demos, and collateral creation.
  • Communicate the highlights of the industrial solutions at conferences and Executive Briefings, focusing on verticals such as Utilities, Manufacturing, and Roadways.
  • Provide technical responses to the Sales Team and Partner community.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise in SD-WAN / SASE / SSE technologies.
  • 3+ years experience with Networking: routing and switching.
  • Bachelors + 3 years of related experience, Masters + 1.5 years of related experience, or 10+ equivalent experience.
  • Experience crafting user documentation, such as white papers, deployment guides, or methodology documents.
  • Experience delivering technical demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, or training to internal and/or external customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with Industrial Switching, Routing & cellular technologies like 5G and Security.
  • 3+ years IT/OT networks and Industrial IoT solutions.
  • Hands-on proficiency with modern coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate technical workflows.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager and Catalyst Center for IR/IE deployment, configuration, management, and unifying security policies.
  • Experience in main industrial vertical markets, Utilities, Manufacturing, and Roadways.

Skills

Strong communication skills, ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions, and hands-on experience with networking technologies are essential.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $135,800.00 to $193,400.00, reflecting the projected salary range for new hires in U.S. and/or Canadian locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training.

Schedule

The role requires being onsite in a hybrid model in either Cisco's San Jose, CA or Research Triangle Park, NC location.
